Plagued by the persistent noises in his head and his inability to remember, a suicidal Prism tries to put himself out of his misery by drowning himself on a deserted beach. But even the sea rejects him, spitting him back out onto the sand, leaving him drained and hopeless. Desperate, he makes a final purchase in the nearby village store — five bottles of fluorescent nail polish — and returns to the beach where he paints his toenails in a somber parting ritual. While his toenails dry, he steels himself for the end, puts on a dress and heads for the water one last time, determined to do it this time. An unwelcome surprise visitor from his past life suddenly arrives, forcing him to finally confront his demons.
