Trinidad & Tobago: Founders of the Village Drums of Freedom, Gerry Drums and Nyron Roots, take us back to their early days, during the island’s fresh independence. Inspired by elder leaders in the community, they pursued spiritual and political empowerment through culture and took it to the international stage. 50 years later, they share their story as they prepare for the golden anniversary of their festival on that same piece of land they grew up on, showcasing the rich musical expressions that emerged from the culture of drumming.
