Memoria Ancestral (Ancestral Memory) is an artistic production by Cas di Cultura that explores Aruba’s history of slavery, encouraging reflection on its past, present, and future impact. Created under the guidance of Natusha Croes, with contributions from Darwin Winklaar and Layzmina Emerencia, the project aims to uncover silenced stories, challenge ingrained cultural shame, and foster pride in identity. Through art as a tool for healing, it offers a safe space for emotional expression and community dialogue, addressing the generational trauma left by slavery and promoting self-awareness, empowerment, and cultural restoration.
